David Thorner

Während meiner Kindheit und Jugend in Rom wurde ich tief von der Bilderwelt meines Vaters, des Malers und Bildhauers Hans Thorner, inspiriert. Meine Werke, seit 2010 mehrheitlich digital, verstehe ich darum auch als eine Weiterführung dieser Bildsprache.

Ausserdem arbeite ich als Dozent für klassischen Gesang an der ZHdK, am Konservatorium Winterthur, an der Kalaidos Musikhochschule und als Guest Lecturer an dem Curtis Institute of Music. Eine enge Zusammenarbeit verbindet mich mit meiner wunderbaren Frau Prof. Jane Thorner. Wir sind seit Jahrzehnten ein Team in Gesangsunterricht und internationalen Workshops.

During my childhood and youth in Rome I was deeply inspired by the world of pictures of my father, the painter and sculptor Hans Thorner. My works, most of them digital since 2010, are therefore also a continuation of this visual language.

I also work as a lecturer for classical singing at the ZHdK, the Winterthur Conservatory, the Kalaidos Music Academy and as a Guest Lecturer at the Curtis Institute of Music. A close collaboration connects me with my wonderful wife Prof. Jane Thorner. We have been a team in singing lessons and international workshops for decades.
